Three years before Street Fighter II hit the arcades, its not-nearly-as-known predecessor "Street Fighter" was an incredible step forward in defining the genre. It showcased a few industry-first features and laid the groundwork for all modern fighters.
One of those features was a very large soundtrack for a game in the '80s - a unique, diverse sound that paved the way for a proper world warrior jukebox.
This was the only known full soundtrack composed by Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, who was usually just a sound programmer.
A remastered rendition of the soundtrack was created for the TurboGrafx-CD / PC Engine CD-ROMĀ² port (oddly retitled "Fighting Street"), which is by far the best sounding version (in my opinion).
